A Letter in the Mail

[348]

There's a letter in the mail
That I don't wish to read –
It lured me with her perfume,
And so I chanced a peek.

It lured me with her perfume,
But reeked of broken heart;
There's a letter in the mail –
It'll only be the start.

There's a letter in the mail,
And it's gonna bring bad news;
There's a letter in the mail,
And it might just blow a fuse –

It sits there in the mail
And awaits my teary eyes –
With all that it entails,
With all the good advice.

There's a letter in the mail
That I don't wish to read –
It finds me in my cell,
And it will set me free.
